Unconference: how can the next government achieve clean energy abundance?

Join us to explore radical ideas for achieving clean, abundant, and secure energy to address climate change and drive a sustainable future.

This event has now passed.

Civic Future and Britain Remade are partnering to host an Unconference on clean energy.

Tuesday 16 July, 6:30-9:00, The Art Workers’ Guild, 6 Queen Square, London, WC1N 3AT

In a world grappling with climate change, dwindling fossil fuel reserves, threats to energy security and the growing demand for energy from developing countries building their economies, the need for radical ideas for energy abundance has never been more urgent.

Traditional energy sources are often finite and environmentally damaging, exacerbating the global climate crisis. Political discourse, however, primarily focuses on energy efficiency – reducing the amount of energy needed and used – but what about energy abundance? Is a future where energy is clean, abundant and secure possible? How do we make energy too cheap to meter?

Radical ideas offer innovative solutions that challenge the status quo and pave the way for a sustainable energy that supports economic growth, innovation and a plentiful future. With a new government on the cards, it is the perfect time to bring some of these ideas into focus. And to that end we are going to bring together a group of people working in the field to present and discuss some of the more exciting proposals.
